Reference: v1.15.2, published October 15, 2026. Reviewed October 15, 2026. Screens can vary by role, site, modules and installed version. If you still run v1.15.1, the printing task notes what changes when you update.
Local installation for macOS 15+ Apple Silicon, Windows and Linux according to the published installers. Local operation works without internet; external services, synchronization and network devices need their connection.
Web
Requires an accessible Puntovivo server. Prints through the browser or the server’s configured transport; native backup and restore controls are used in desktop.
Phone / Companion
Live monitoring is a read-only PWA for admin, manager and viewer roles with the module enabled. Operational data is hidden offline. It does not replace an offline register.
No matching tasks. Try register, products or backup.
01 · First launch · administrator
Install and create your business
A new installation asks you to create the business and its owner. If a business already exists, sign in with an active account.
What to do
Download the installer for your platform from Releases. Preserve the installation and backups when updating; do not delete data to reopen setup.
Choose the language at first launch. Enter the business name, first site, country and business profile. Country selection proposes currency and locale; it does not create fiscal authorizations.
Enter the owner’s name and email. Create and confirm a password with at least 12 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, a number and a special character.
On desktop, use the main window. For web, the operator must start the server and open Puntovivo on that same computer; use the private installation code shown at startup. This is not remote registration.
Sign in with the account you chose. If the setup response was lost, try signing in before repeating the process.
02 · Company → Guided setup · administrator
Complete initial setup
The guide covers Business type, Business, Sales, Fiscal, Payments and Devices. Resolve each decision marked as required.
What to do
Open Company and review guided setup. Use Resolve now to reach the missing setting.
Check country, currency, identity and contact details in Company; review the first site and its status in Sites.
Prepare Products and Sequentials. Check each site’s prefix and numbering before the first payment.
Prepare users and site access. In Sales, select the site and register you will operate, then record the cash opening.
Review Fiscal using actual business information and authorizations. Set up additional payment methods and devices when needed; the guide separates optional settings from required ones.
03 · Company → Modules · administrator
Choose or enable a business profile
There are seven profiles. A profile adjusts visible tools; it does not create another business, transform the catalog or grant certification.
What to do
Use What do you sell? in guided setup or open Company → Modules. Choose the profile that matches your operation.
Review the switches after applying the profile. You can enable available modules individually. A control marked Unavailable cannot enable that feature.
Configure each tool’s resources: enabling a screen does not create tables, products, recipes, lots or professional authorizations.
For mixed activities, choose a base profile and adjust its modules. Applying another profile can change several switches; check them before operating.
Resolve open table work before disabling Dine-in. Disabling a module keeps its data and history, but hides its screen and blocks its use.
Retail / minimarket
Counter sales and Operations Center; disables quotations and restaurant surfaces.
Restaurant
Enables Touch POS, KDS, Mobile Waiter and Dine-in. Configure tables, stations and kitchen routing. Mobile Waiter and Voice Ordering also require Dine-in.
Quick service / café
Enables Touch POS and KDS; disables tables, Mobile Waiter and delivery.
Wholesale
Enables quotations and Operations Center; disables restaurant surfaces.
Hardware store
Enables quotations. Product creation offers length, serial or lot templates; the profile does not change stock.
Butchery
Enables Touch POS. Explicitly configure mass units, products, lots and weight/price labels; recipes and transformations are not created by choosing the profile.
Drugstore / pharmacy
Counter profile. Configure medicine details, lots, country policy, prescription evidence and authorized staff where applicable. Controlled medicines remain blocked, as does prescription operation without a reviewed country adapter. This does not grant a healthcare license.
04 · Products · administrator / manager according to action
Create products, prices and taxes
Prepare a small catalog and check a sale before loading the whole business.
What to do
Create a product with its name, code or barcode and base unit. Choose whether it tracks stock; non-stock services can be sold and are excluded from merchandise procurement.
Set price, cost, applicable taxes and whether the price includes tax. Use rates verified for your business; sample catalogs do not determine your obligations.
If selling by package or measure, configure alternate units and conversions. Review the three price tiers when using them.
For customers with a price tier, apply it explicitly to the ticket. Selecting a customer never silently reprices an open ticket.
To import, open the migration guide: prepare CSV or Excel, map columns, review the preview and confirm. The limit is 500 rows per file.
05 · Inventory, Purchases and Transfers · manager / administrator
Receive and control inventory
Stock belongs to a site. Stock at another site does not increase the active site’s balance.
What to do
Confirm the active site before viewing stock, movements or receiving goods.
Record incoming stock through a purchase or order receipt. For lot-tracked products, capture the actual lot identity and expiry where applicable; for serialized products, record exact serials.
Use Transfers to move goods between sites. Review sent and received quantities and discrepancies; do not simulate a transfer with a sale.
Use a physical count to compare storage with the system. Count the requested units, lots or serials and submit; approval requires its underlying state to remain current.
Check movements for discrepancies. For a supplier return, open the purchase and review both the unreturned quantity and the quantity physically available at that site.
06 · Purchases, Suppliers and Quotations · manager / administrator
Purchase, quote and review accounts
An unreceived order is not available stock. Historical purchases do not automatically become debt.
What to do
Review or create the supplier, then create a direct purchase or purchase order. Check the receiving site and costs.
Submit the order explicitly and record receipt when goods arrive. Capture lots or serials as required by the product.
If using minimum-stock suggestions, choose a supplier and review the draft before submitting; orders are not placed automatically.
In supplier accounts, explicitly record invoices, opening balances, payments or credits, and review aging and the statement.
Enable Quotations in Modules if needed. An accepted quotation can enter the register and convert once into a sale under its agreed terms.
Charging or refunding requires an active cash session at the correct site and for the correct user.
What to do
In Sales, select an available register. If none can be assigned, ask an administrator to review register and site configuration.
Choose Open register. Enter the opening float and counts of notes and coins; the counted total must match the float.
During the shift, use Record movement for paid-in, paid-out, skims or change replenishment and retain the reason.
At shift end, choose Close register and count the whole drawer by denomination. Blind close hides the expected balance until submission; a manager or administrator may have supervised close.
Submit the count and review balanced, over or short status. The responsible person reviews the cash-control report and shift movements.
08 · Sales · cashier, manager or administrator
Take payment and recover a parked sale
Confirm the site and cash session before starting. Permissions and modules can change available actions.
What to do
Search or scan the product and confirm quantity, unit and price. Select the required lot or serial identity.
Add the customer when needed. Review taxes, discounts and total; request manager approval when the action requires it.
To continue later, suspend the sale and recover it from pending work. Check that you resumed the correct ticket before charging.
At checkout, choose a payment method or split between available methods. Confirm cash received and change; a single cash payment keeps both on the receipt. A partial payment shows the outstanding balance and asks you to confirm it explicitly.
Check that the sale is completed and keep its number. Print or reprint from its details. WhatsApp sharing prepares text and an optional local PNG; you decide and send it manually.
09 · Sale details · subject to permissions and approval
Return, exchange or void a sale
Start from the original sale to preserve quantities, lots, serials and refund evidence.
What to do
Find the original sale and open its details. Verify number, site, customer and lines.
For a return, select eligible lines and quantities; returns can be full or partial. Review quantities already returned.
Confirm the reason and the refund method offered by the workflow. For cash effects, check the active cash session.
For an exchange, use the linked replacement sale. When using store credit, verify the customer and credit issued or redeemed.
Use Void for a complete reversal when appropriate and permitted. Then review status, stock and cash movements.
10 · Users and Employees · administrator
Create users and limit access
Included roles are admin, manager, cashier and viewer. There is no general custom-role editor.
What to do
In Users, create an individual account with its role and a strong password. Avoid sharing the owner account among cashiers.
Review employee and site assignments for their work. Select the correct site before operating.
Use admin for users, configuration and modules. Managers handle operational tasks; cashiers work in sales and cash; viewers access permitted read-only screens.
To change your password, open the user menu and choose Change password. Sign in again after saving; an administrator can also reset passwords.
When employee PIN switching is configured, check the displayed identity before continuing. Sign out when leaving the workstation.
11 · Receipt templates and Devices · administrator
Configure receipts and printing
Choose the connection your printer actually has. A USB printer installed in the operating system uses its system driver; that does not imply direct USB ESC/POS.
What to do
Install and test the printer in the operating system first. Confirm model, paper width and queue name.
In Receipt templates, create or edit the template, choose 58 mm, 80 mm or letter as appropriate, review blocks and preview, and set the active default for its kind.
In Devices, check the site, add the printer and choose its connection method. For a USB printer choose System; direct USB and serial ESC/POS are labelled not implemented. For a network ESC/POS printer, enter its real private IP address, a port from 9100 to 9103 and the roll’s paper width; the form does not fill in an example address.
On desktop, in System printer on this computer, refresh the list, choose the exact printer for this computer and use Print a test ticket; it records no sale. If the saved printer goes missing, printing stops with a message instead of using another printer.
Use Test on an ESC/POS device: a failed test shows as failed with its reason. For a System device the button reads Check registration and does not print paper. Then review a receipt from a sale’s details; in web, allow the print popup and confirm the destination in the browser dialog.
After a post-payment failure, check the print queue and the sale before retrying. A failed ESC/POS job stays queued for its retry and no second print opens through the system dialog. Reprint from the sale details without charging again; an audited reprint prints its own copy, and cancelling its dialog prints nothing but still records the reprint.
Receipts that fit the paper
58 mm and 80 mm receipts use the printable width of the roll. A reprint keeps the template and width of the original receipt; new ESC/POS output uses the paper width configured on the printer.
Cash received and change
A completed single-cash sale stores the amount handed over and the change, and new receipts and reprints show both. Receipts from earlier versions never invent a cash-received amount.
Updating from v1.15.1
If silent printing was on, choose the system printer on each desktop computer. Until you do, receipts open the print dialog. Automatic printing after a sale through a system printer is opt-in and off by default.
12 · Company → Data · administrator · native controls on desktop
Back up and recover the business
A product CSV is not a complete backup. Keep the encrypted bundle and its recovery material outside the workstation.
What to do
On desktop, open Company → Data. Review schedule, last successful backup, encryption protection and remote vault if used.
Create a manual backup and check its result and location. You can protect it with a passphrase: store it securely; for another device, retain the passphrase or source key required by the bundle.
Configure scheduling if needed and review the last success time. For cloud storage, configure the S3-compatible vault and confirm upload; a successful local backup does not mean upload has completed.
Run the non-destructive restore drill and review integrity and counts before restoring over active data.
For damaged storage, stop using the workstation and preserve its data. From Operations → Support, follow recovery to Company → Data; verify the backup, then use Restore backup and its confirmation.
13 · Company, Modules and Operations · administrator
Set up optional tools and recognize limits
Enable tools you intend to configure. This manual describes product functions, not legal permission to operate.
What to do
For restaurants, configure tables, stations and kitchen routing after enabling modules. KDS preserves local preparation state; it does not certify delivery to physical printers.
For AI, review provider and credentials in Company before use. Features may send data to the configured provider and incur costs; choosing a business profile does not configure AI.
For Customer Display, enable the module and open the second screen from the sale. This is a local cart projection, not a certified hardware driver.
For live monitoring, enable Companion and sign in with a permitted read role. Do not use it to take payment or as a current balance while disconnected.
In Operations, review sync, fiscal, device or payment incidents and follow the area’s recovery workflow. Check saved results before retrying an action.
14 · Diagnosis · start with version, user and site
Troubleshoot common problems
Check what was saved before repeating an operation. An error does not prove that a sale or payment did not occur.
What to do
Cannot sign in: use your owner account or an active account, check keyboard language and password. There is no universal production account. Ask an authorized administrator for a reset.
Missing feature: check role, active site and Company → Modules. Unavailable means that control cannot enable the feature.
Cannot take payment: review cash opening, available register, numbering, stock, lot/serial selection and any approval requested by the screen.
Cannot print: first confirm the saved sale and the print queue, then check paper, power, the system printer selected on this computer or the TCP IP/port, and the device site. Read the reason of a failed test. In browser, check popups. Direct USB ESC/POS is not implemented, so switching to it is not a solution.
Inventory mismatch: review site, units and conversions, pending receipts, transfers and returns. Check movements before a count or adjustment.
Cannot disable Dine-in: complete or resolve open table work before disabling it.
No internet: desktop keeps local operation, while network devices, cloud, sync and providers may remain pending. Web needs access to its server and Companion hides operational data offline.
Cannot restore: confirm desktop, administrator access, the correct business bundle and its passphrase or key. Do not force restoration after an integrity failure.
